AchieveTexas Programs of Study (POS) Supporting Resources for the 16 Career Clusters
The Programs of Study for the House Bill 5 Foundation High School Program are ready now!
Programs of Study (POS) have been created for each of the 16 Career Clusters. POS reflect current occupations and represent all 79 career pathways as cited on www.careerclusters.org, plus an additional set of POS for 43 career pathways developed by AchieveTexas and approved by TEA. These documents are designed for students but can also be used with administrators, counselors, teachers, business and industry representatives, and parents. POS contain lots of helpful information, including the core courses and career-related electives in high school that will help prepare students for their career goals. These Programs of Study are based on the Foundation High School Program.
The College and Career Planning Guides are available in two electronic formats. The PDF versions of the documents will allow you to print and access linked websites, and the electronic magazine versions allows for interactive viewing. These documents were developed in 2010, but still contain helpful information for your students. Updated guides will be available soon.
